William Taft




William Howard Taft was born on September 15, 1857 and lived in Cincinnati, Ohio US. And he graduated for Yale and practiced law. He preferred working with the law over politics. He be came a Federal circuit judge at the age of 34. In was sent to the Philippines in 1900 as chief civil administrator. He worked there to improve the lives of the people by building roads schools and helping them work towards democracy. President Roosevelt made him a secretary of war in 1907 and in 1908he became the Republican Candidates For president. During Taft’s presidency he began a diplomatic policy known as Dollar Diplomacy. Dollar Diplomacy is when the United States gave money to other countries for some control over that countries political decisions. William Taft did not enjoy his political career and only served one term as the President. His successor was Woodrow Wilson.







Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president .He was born December 28th 1856, Wilson began his career as a professor of political science and quickly gained success and became president of Princeton in 1902.

In 1910 he began his political career as governor of New Jersey .He began enduring the progressive movement and was nominated for president in 1912.As president Wilson pushed for lower taxes, the Federal Reserve Act and the federal trade commission. The slogan “He kept us out of war “During this time World War One was raging in Europe, but in 1917 Woodrow Wilson is forced to have the United States enter the war . After the United States helped the Allies win the war –Wilson worked to help the League .Wilson suffered a stroke after and died February 3, 1924.
